About Us

La Carreta was founded in December of 2018 by ​co-owners; Arturo Cendejas and his daughter ​Karen Cendejas.

It’s doors opened in March 8th of 2019 as Centro ​Botanero La Carreta. In November of 2019 they ​moved to the current location on Main St where ​they began to sell their famous Quesabirria ​tacos right before the pandemic. The tacos were ​made with their family birria recipe just like ​when they sold tacos in Guadalajara prior to ​moving to Green Bay.

The restaurant’s concept was of a snack-bar but ​due to the pandemic during which bars were ​closed to the public people began to try their ​food for take-out and once doors were opened ​back for dine-in they made the switch to focus ​on their tacos.

Pictured above is the original location on Mason ​St, Green Bay. While the main focus began ​around beer accompanied by a small appetizer ​they still sold birria and other food items from ​Guadalajara.

Currently Karen has become the main owner ​while Arturo has expanded to the West side of ​Green Bay and opened up another restaurant ​(Birrieria La Cabañita) and hopes to continue to ​expand with the help of his family and loyal ​customers.
